Biography
Patricia Schmidt is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and an Aquatic Rehabilitation Therapist. She is a graduate of the University of North 
Carolina at Wilmington and East Carolina University respectively. She is trained in Vibrational Healing and has been a Reiki Master since 2005.
She began her own Therapeutic Recreation and Aquatic Therapy business in North Carolina in 1997 and has worked with a variety of people of all abilities at their homes and in the community. She has the unique gift of meeting her clients at their learning level, which in turn promotes total self-acceptance and ease in moving forward in one's life.
She began swimming with wild dolphins in Key West, Florida in 1997, and subsequently participated in numerous "dolphins in the wild" swims, many of them which included children with disabilities, where Patricia worked directly in the water as an Aquatic Therapist with them. Patricia has been the Aquatic Therapist for Operation Sunshine Family Therapy Programs of England. This non-profit organization raises funds and supports the cost of using a specially adapted boat, specifically selected therapists and all the support staff required to offer children and young adults with disabilities, their families and support worker the opportunity to fulfill their dream of swimming with dolphins in the wild. By working with the dolphins in the wild, the results are significantly more powerful and life changing. The dolphins choose to be with the children, and, again, are not lured to the group in any way.
